A friend and me visited krumlov in November (October and November are great months to go there), and It was a pleasure to visit it with this tour. The guide is excellent; she is plenty of info, culture and education. I do recommend to everybody. I wish even a longer walk! If you visit Krumlov I do recommend to visit booking this tour.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience learning about Cesky Krumlov by taking a walking tour with Karolina Kortusova. She was so informative and educated us on the history of this fairy tale town. One of the best tour guides we had during our trip to Eastern Europe. Her love for this town helps to make the tour even more special.I'm so glad I did this tour. Sarka (pronounced Sharka) is a local who has lived in the town her whole life, and you can tell she really enjoys sharing it with visitors. This is not some by the book tour where your guide rattles off names and dates. She was so friendly, open to questions, gave us some local perspective as well as the historical stuff, and yes we went overtime with our tour. It was 250 CZK but well worth it. I saw her leading another group the next day and she was equally friendly and happy!

I met a few people who thought they would walk around town on their own to save money, but doing that you miss so much ! It's a small town that doesn't take long to walk through, and on your own you don't get a taste of the stories and history.
This tour actually really complemented the tour of the castle interior, which I did in the afternoon. That was a bit more traditional names-and-dates, but the interiors of the castle were stunning. The stories on the two tours complemented each other well. I would strongly recommend doing both, on a day in Cesky Krumlov, it is not too much, as both are just over 90 minutes each (one morning and one afternoon).... which leaves plenty of time to wander around this small town on your own. The history is a bit involved so it doesn't hurt to do more than one tour.

One other recommendation - skip the castle museum... it's more on the 19th C and onwards - I didn't find it that interesting. (There is some earlier stuff but not so much). Right now the gardens aren't much (only just the start of spring) but in summer they will be lovely and just a lovely place to spend time relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere.

Karolina Kortusova is one of the most informed, thorough and personable guides we have encountered. Her knowledge of this jewel of a city, Cesky Krumlov, coupled with her love for the city and its rich history that dates back to the 1300's, equipped her with that extra spark of enthusiasm and attention to detail that made our day trip from Prague to Cesky Krumlov one that we will never forget. Karolina met us at the train station and graciously introduced us to the beauty and unique feature of the city center, followed by the Baroque Theatre tour and castle tour. I had visited this fairytale of a city twice before, but Karolina introduced me to the spirit of the people who have worked so hard to make this a "must see" for any serious traveler in Central Europe. Karolina's command of the English language is amazing, and her ability to anticipate our needs and interests was astounding. We enjoyed a very informative tour of the Eggenberg Brewery and were led to a wonderful restaurant where we enjoyed several Czech specialties and discovered a delicious Moravian white wine,, Zelezna, that has turned us on to truly great wines produced in Moravia to our east. We are seasoned travelers and know a great tour guide when we find one - and we have found one in Karolina and Krumlov Tours.

"Best option to get to know Cesky Krumlov"

Taking the waking tour is the best way to learn about Cesky Krumlov. The guide was pleasant, well-informed and showed passion for her town. We were only 4 people in the tour, which make the experience more enjoyable and interactive. The tour takes you through the main sights and makes you look at Cesky Krumlov from a local perspective.
There is at least one daily tour throughout the year and it can book at the tourism office (Infocentrum) in the main square. Highly recommended!

If you are visiting Cesky Krumlov, make sure you take a tour with
Karolina Kortusova is a delightful, energetic, very well informed, enthusiastic tour guide, who knows so much about the city and takes you to special places you would miss if you weren't on her tour. This was one of the best city tours we have ever had. She was also extremely helpful in advising us about other details of our stay.

"Excellent value”

Karolina gave our family a two hour tour of the town. She was insightful and pleasant, really a nice person. We enjoyed everything about it. She was also very patient with our six year old who was uncharacteristically chatty that morning. If we had not arranged to spend time with her we would have left Cesky Krumlov without really understanding the origins of the town, without a context for it's current condition (which is quite good), and without an appreciation for the beauty of the place. She was great.

Karolina was excellent and very generous with her time. We decided to go on the tour last minute and because it was the low season it was just us. She was happy to answer all of our questions and was really passionate. Would definitely recommend.
